Jay Shah, who currently serves as the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), will succeed Greg Barclay as ICC President.

Greg Barclay's term is set to conclude on November 30, with Jay Shah stepping into the role on December 1. At 35 years old, Jay Shah will become the youngest ever president of the ICC, a position he will hold for the next three years. Notably, Jay Shah is the fifth Indian to take on this significant responsibility within the ICC.

Jay Shah has been elected unopposed as the next independent chairman of the ICC. His journey in cricket administration began when he took on the role of BCCI Secretary in October 2019, and later, he served as the President of the Asian Cricket Council starting January 2021. Now, Shah will officially assume the ICC chairman role on December 1, 2024, succeeding Greg Barclay, who chose not to pursue a third term after initially assuming the position in 2020.
